The business development management manager of Riva, a jewellery and jewellery-making company, has been arrested on charges of illegally importing and exporting diamond-like products.
Riva’s business development managers, Rana Riaz, Rizwan, and Shahid Ahmad were arrested on Thursday after the police uncovered evidence of an illegal importation and export of diamonds.
“Our team has been working diligently to find the diamonds and ensure that the product is safe and not misused,” a spokesperson for the Federal Police said.
“We have taken the necessary steps to seize and destroy the goods.”‘
Diamond-like items’Riva was recently named the most valuable jewellery brand in the world by Forbes magazine and was listed in the top 10 most valuable brands in the US and the UK in March.
In May, the company’s website was removed from Google after it was reported to be a site for “sneaky online trading”.
