What happened at Tennessee tech company that produced software for Trump’s election campaign?

A Tennessee software developer was arrested in Florida on Thursday, after allegedly stealing a $3,000 computer that was used by the campaign of President Donald Trump, the FBI said.

The suspect, Andrew Schuler, is accused of using the stolen computer to download the presidential candidate’s website, according to the FBI.

Schuler was arrested by Broward County Sheriff’s Office deputies and taken to the Broward Sheriff’s Station in Jacksonville, Florida, the agency said in a statement.

A Florida State University computer forensic analyst said Schuler may have been using the computer to access voter information from the Clinton campaign.

In a statement released Thursday, the Browards Sheriff’s Department said the arrest was made in connection with an ongoing investigation.

The FBI has not yet released the name of the victim.

The Washington Post reported that Schuler was charged with conspiracy to commit computer hacking, identity theft, unauthorized access to a protected computer, identity fraud and wire fraud.

The suspect has not been identified.
